Supported File Formats in PSP

Monday, March 28th, 2005

I just received this request for help:

I am having a problem lately with my Paint Shop Pro and my Animation Shop. I have tried 3 tutorials, (2 for blinkies and 1 for a glitter sig). I am doing fine with the PSP part but when I try to open the PSP file in Animation Shop, it says its not a valid psp file. Is this because I am using 9.0, and all the tutorials are for 7.0? This is something I have been trying to learn for quite some time now. I was wondering if somehow you could help me out? I’ve emailed 5 people.. no one has gotten back to me yet Please reply back at yakidil69@hotmail.com… if you can, and when you have the time! It would help me out very much! TY!

Upon investigation, I suspect the problem lies with Animation Shop supported file types. Continue reading »

Sharpening Images

Saturday, March 19th, 2005

Whenever you resize an image for the web, whether it is a graphic you have made, or a digital photo you have uploaded; it is always a good idea to sharpen it before saving. This is because when an image is resized, it loses some of its clarity or “sharpness”. I have just read an excellent article in Cameron Moll’s blog Authentic Boredom on this subject.

However, other tutorial writers have moved on to the newer versions, and perhaps the best place to start would be with my old friend Patti, at Moons Designs: Continue reading »

New Format for Tutorials

Tuesday, November 2nd, 2004

I have now removed all the screenshots from the tutorials pages themselves, and uploaded them to our new screenshots image gallery. There are two methods available for using the screenshots with the tutorials. Each screenshot is linked individually, and will open in a new window. You can close this new window after viewing each image, and another window will open when you click the next screenshot link. Alternatively; you can keep the first new window open, and browse through the gallery itself by clicking on the next arrows on the right of the gallery screen. Please choose whichever method seems easier to you.
Why have I done this? Well, the screenshots, though essential to our tutorials, have quite large file sizes, and removing them to their own gallery makes the pages much smaller, and thus drastically reduces page loading time. The lists for all our tutorials can now be found in the JWG Directory. They are categorised as :
