Wahey you are going to be pleased with me Jewel
Yay I finally managed to create a full standards compliant website in html 4.01 with no tables and no frames, woo hooo.
I am so pleased been working on this for ages, so here it is
performingzone.starlightstudiographics.co.uk/…
It is not fully completed yet, but it is so easy to use and I have also used php includes too.
(BIG SMIRK)
Let me know what you think and if it displays ok in everyones browser.
I used this as a starting point
glish.com…
Love n Hugs Kerry xx
PS: Thanks Jewel I needed a kick start with this

By ‘Eck, Kerry, that is really impressive.
I am so proud of you.
Just two small errors to fix…..
In the title for Commedia in div menu5, you have what is known as an ‘unencoded ampersand’ which is when you just have the ampersand itself, and you should encode it by adding amp; to it in your markup. There is another one in (valid html and css) at the bottom. If you fix these, and a simple typo for resources (you have resorces), in right content 3rd paragraph, it will be perfect…..
See this extract from W3C about character encoding and escapes. Yes I know it mostly applies to xhtml, but it is a good habit to get into from the start even with html4.

Oh btw, I tested your site in IE6, Firefox 1.5, and Opera 8. works fine in all of them.

Lovely thanks Jewel, I did try to get rid of most ampersands, but must have missed these two. Thats why I have got rid of all the bravenet codes because they always stopped me validating with the amps; and the cpvs that could not be recognised.
I have also got myself a nice w3c friendly stat counter too, so am well chuffed.
It has made life much easier, the code looks neater, layout is neater and it is so easy to amend pages with the php, wooo hoo, so glad I listened to your advice. Thanks for checking in other browsers for me too
Love Kerry xx
