Nikki in trouble
I posted re the dot net & the emoticons but then a white page came up saying I was blocked, my IP or a subnet of it has spam’d here … I don’t think so or at least I didn’t mean to. I did post a link to microsoft’s dot net web forum & the spamanator mentioned links. Well I don’t believe it & its probably just a goof but I thought I’d let you know anyway.

Probably the spaminator being over-zealous. It has tried to ban me in the past.
I’ll go and have a look. One of the features of spammers is loads of links, so that is what it looks at first, but we should be able to post a couple of links in comments without being blocked.
I’ll let you know how I get on….

Aha! It was you with your emoticons……

Now I will leave them here if you promise not to play with them too much…….
Here’s the deal. Add the emoticons to your post after the “more” link so that they are not dancing all over the home page. If you are posting a comment, it doesnt really matter, but the spaminator doesnt like them, as it thinks they are links (because each emoticon has its own url) and if you go mad with them, it strikes you down!
I am trying to run a serious, professional site here you know….
Give me a break…..

I see. Well ok I guess you’ve earned at least a break.
And I’ll try to behave. My computer is acting up. I have a scripting error that is slowing me down. Hey Jewel, have you been to Iomega’s site? They have the Active Disk downloads there. Many of them are the full versions of programs & most are free. I had heard of these but hadn’t seen them. The program true space 3 is a $595. program they have for free & many others such as Open Office which I am going to try. I also like some of the filing cabinets & want to try one. These programs are good for security because they are not installed on your computer. Whats great is that you can take them with you on a zip disk or mini usb disk or such & once you remove the disk the program is off of your computer. Anyway thought you or someone here might like to check it out. Back to work for me.

I havent heard of that site. I have just been there, but cant find any references to downloads. Presumably you have to have purchased a storage medium from them?
I have just been burning my data onto dvd as I am getting a new motherboard installed (it arrived today), and elixir wants me to have a hard copy backup in case of unforeseen disaster. It is amazing really that I have so much personal and web stuff, but it all fitted onto 2 dvds (about 8gb in total). All small files, you see. Hopefully all will be well and my computer should be more responsive with the new mobo installed. It is fine, but it is a bit slow at the moment. I am quite used to it, being a patient soul, but elixir and Pedro think it is painful.
Anyway, if I am not around for a while, you will know that I am offline during installation.
