Hello,

)
Do you mean where do you save it on your computer? Well it depends on where you like to save stuff really. Do you use your My Pictures inside My Documents, when you download images and other bits and pieces?
I would suggest you open My Pictures and make a new folder named Glitters.
Then when you go to any sites that have glitters for download, you can navigate to this folder to save them to. If that doesnt make sense, let me know and I can do you a screenshot, or explain in more detail.
(No need to feel silly btw. It is only easy when you know how.

Your question isn’t silly at all. I remember trying to figure where things went. Today I know lots more than I did then & I still lose stuff sometimes.
If you want to find lots of glitters you can search at www.google.com… by putting in PSP (or the program you use) & glitter.

Hi,
I need to know the exact programs I need to complete the tasks for a glitter name. Please let me know. I can follow the directions, I think once I know which programs I need. I run Windows and Linux both, so whichever you recommend for either operating system.
Please Reply!!

I use Paint Shop Pro myself. I think you can only run it on Windows (someone please correct me if I am wrong), and you can use any one of versions 7 8 or 9. I have not tried doing them in Photo Impact or Photo Shop (or The Gimp on Linux),so cant be absolutely certain they will work as easily in those other programs. If you can get hold of a copy of Paint Shop Pro, you will be able to make a glittername quite easily.

Hi, Great website!
Love your tutorial style with the optional screen shots. It’s very easy to read and understand.
I have a question about making transparent gifs. I created three of them last week with no problem following the directions in your tutorial on that subject. Today when I try to export my transparent gif it doesn’t work!
Everything goes as it should and looks right in the preview box. When I open the saved file it always has a background in it! I’m not sure what I’m doing differently, but it’s about to drive me crazy!!
I’ve tried it using existing transparency, and matching the background color. I’ve changed all the settings I could think of in the optimizer and still have no transparency.
If you know of anything that could be causing this problem please let me know. Thanks!
Raven
I’m using PSP7 in case that matters.
7th June 2005 at 12:03
Ok, daft question but you are saving the file from the optimizer? If you try and use save as, it will give you a background colour. If you like you can send me the .psp file as an email attachment to look at if you like.
Where are you opening the file to check the transparency? If you open it in PSP it will seem to have a background, but if you open it in a browser, it should be fine.
Let me know where you are opening it, and we’ll take it from there.
As a last resort, you can have the .psp file open in PSP, copy and paste it into Ani Shop and save it there. Bit of a cheat, but it does work.

Hi Jamie
Have you checked out my tutorial?
Glitter Names
Come back if you are having difficulty with it. It can be a bit hard to grasp at first, but once you have made one or two, you will be able to churn them out if you want.

Hi~ I want to let you know that your blinkie tutorial is very good and easy to understand, very good for a beginner like myself. I was wondering if you happen to have any bigger square templates or other designs besides the ones you have listed to make blinkies with?
Thanks for writing such a easy tutorial.

20th March 2006 at 23:38
Hi Malu,

I expect the spam software ate them. It gets a bit over-zealous sometimes, I am afraid.
Anyway, lovely to see you after all this time.
How are things with you these days?
23rd March 2006 at 19:50
hi jewel
.. things are not as well
.. i have been on disability since august of 2006, and i was hoping that i could get back to work at the end of this month. unfortunately my doctor extended my treatment until september 2006
… looks like i have more time to spend in front of the computer now
(whenever i’m feeling better).. i think i’m starting again from scratch… jewel, i remember that on your old site, there were background url’s that i got. there was for just single, double and multiple… if it is not too much trouble for you, do you think i can have them again?..(please please, begging on my knees)
i know it’s a stupid thing to ask for, knowing that everyone has already moved on to a more complicated and advanced manner of doing these things. i would greatly appreciate if you can just reply on here. sometimes going through the site makes me blind…lol… i’m not as good as before in seeing things that are just under my nose… take care jewel, and hi
to everyone… always, malu
26th March 2006 at 17:10
I honestly cant remember how to do those old backgrounds now Malu, because they are so old-fashioned and clunky.

but mabe a bit of web design will help cheer you up when you are feeling up to sitting at the computer.
There are much easier ways of adding backgrounds these days. What sort of website have you got, and how much do you know, (if anything) about the new methods of web design?
My advice to everyone these days, is to forget all the old stuff we taught ourselves, and start completely afresh with a clean sheet.
It makes it so much easier, and is the way to go nowadays. The links on the front page for W3Schools Tutorials and the beginners guide to CSS, are indeed excellent places to start. I am also here to help if you get stuck.
Sorry to hear you are not so good, health-wise,
And dont worry about it.
Web Design is meant to be enjoyable, so take it slowly and calmly, and you will find it soothing.

hi again jewel
…thanks for the advice… i will surely try that, and if i get stuck, i know you are always there to help. God bless and take care always…

I’d like to know how to combine two animations but keeping their separate frame properties eg. Someone asked me to do a tag for them with a heart beating animation and a fire animation. The fire animation is much faster but when i put them together the one copied over adopts the time frame of the other!
I use Animation Shop 3 for my animations
Hope you can help.
nikky
29th July 2006 at 13:37
Email reply sent to Nikky above. (General gist being that both animations need to be rebuilt, increasing the frame delay of the slower animation to match the faster one).

First thing to do for both blinkie does not blink, and sparkles dont sparkle for long enough, is to check the settings for your animations. In AS, go to animation:properties, and click on the looping tab. Make sure your animation is checked to play indefinitely. Sometimes this is set incorrectly by default, and can stop your animations from animating as they should.
If this does not help, come back and we will look at other possibilities. Also, make sure the PSP files are saved as .psp not .pspfile, because this will stop them working too.

Hi Jewel,
I’am wondering if you could tell me and also maybe have a tut about how to add glitter or like sparklies to a graphic. I use Photo Impact 12 and have not been able to find any tuts on this subject.
Also, how to save the glitter, sparklies, etc. to my galleries/librairies on PI 12.
Thank you you much,
Tammy K.

Hi Jewel,
Your glitter text tutorial was really helpful and easy to follow. The only bad thing I have been experiencing is some areas of the text graphics have black lines. I am not for sure how to get rid of them..any ideas?
Thanx for your time,
Lauren:D
