My Summer
Phew! It has been a long and busy summer here at the JWG homestead.
I completed the total revamp and upgrade of the JWG site in early June, and had planned to potter around doing bits to it throughout the summer.
Unfortunately, real life took over in a big way, and it is only now that I have finally managed to get this personal blog online, although it was created back in May!
Sadly, my father died at the end of July after a mercifully short illness, and although he was 85 and had a good innings, as they say, it was still very sad to let him go. ![]()
My children have been home for several weeks now, and will be going back to school on Thursday….woohoo!! ![]()
We have also had a big dose of spring fever in high summer, (yes, we are a little slow around here!), and after completely sorting/cleaning/tidying my daughter’s house from top to bottom to allow for room changes to accomodate her son’s needs, (he is autistic and needs his own space), we decided to embark upon some revamping of our own bedrooms, and dump a lot of junk in the process! We have completed my room, and are currently turning my son’s health hazard of a bedroom into a cool, modern study room.
The final pieces of furniture will arrive this week, and then the transformation will be complete. The ongoing challenge will be for him to keep it looking like a mini NewYork loft apartment!
I will be returning to college in October, to continue my Information Technology degree, which I am studying on a part-time basis. One year down, 4 more to go!
So, when the children are back next week, I can get down to some revision of my Welsh language, (which I am also studying, as I live in West Wales in the UK where the language is actively spoken, and it will greatly help my career prospects if I am bilingual when applying for jobs locally).
Well, that’s about it for now ![]()
more soon ……

Hi Jewel, just poking my nose in while I’m at my brother’s house. My computer has an infection that is tough to get rid of. I don’t know what it is yet even! I love the look here & this is a “gemâ€
because it helps up keep up with where you are & what you’re up too. So thanks for adding this.
I want routine & order back into my life & especially in my computer. Maybe by Monday. I keep saying that but essentially when I take it down I don’t want to reload the darn infection  so I’m going it a step at a time.
have fun at school
